Vince Thomas
Vice President, ITT Defense Operations
Mr. Thomas is Vice President of Operations and VBSS Champion for ITT Defense. He has been in this capacity since October of 2005. In this role, he has ITT Defense wide responsibility for a range of strategic and operational activities including integrated supply chain, facility rationalization and planning, acquisition integration, Value-Based Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing and other improvement initiatives.
Mr. Thomas joined ITT’s Electro-Optical Products Division, currently named Night Vision, in 1986. Since that time, he has held management positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, industrial engineering, purchasing and production & inventory control. During the acquisition of K and M Electronics in 1999, he was appointed Director of Business Transition and was responsible for leading the integration of K and M into the Night Vision business unit. More recently, as Vice President & Director of Operations, he was responsible for operational management of the Night Vision facility which included manufacturing, purchasing, production & inventory control and facilities management functions.
Prior to joining ITT, he was employed in the automotive industry.
Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University. He is a three-time ITT Silver Pin of quality award recipient and in 1999, he received the Ring of Quality for his work in developing and bringing into production the new rugged helmet mount for night vision goggles under the U.S. Army’s Omnibus V program.
