Telos® Corporation has awarded ITT a one year base contract to provide operations and maintenance support for the AN/GSC-39D Standardized Tactical Entry Point (STEP) facility at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The contract has a potential value of $19 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed by ITT's Systems Division, located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The award was granted under Telos' Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) program contract vehicle for the U.S. Air Force. The ultimate customer is the US Air Force's 609 ACOMS (Air Communications Squadron)/Central Command Air Force (CENTAF) Program Office, located at Shaw Air Force Base, SC.

This STEP site provides critical voice and data circuits within Afghanistan, Iraq, Qatar and Kuwait. ITT will provide on-site 24/7 operational coverage of the Al Udeid Satellite Communications (SATCOM) earth terminal and associated communications equipment operating as part of the Defense Information Infrastructure. ITT has been supporting the US Air Force at Al Udeid since 2000, when only 12 USAF personnel were stationed on site. ITT assisted with the construction of this STEP site and was responsible for its Defense Information Systems Agency certification in 2003.

ITT is part of the Telos NETCENTS team. NETCENTS is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that provides the Air Force, the Department of Defense and select other federal agencies with a single vehicle through which to buy network-centric information technologies, networking equipment and services, as well as voice, video and data communications hardware and software.
