ITT Receives Radar Contract for Romania
January 5, 2005 – ITT has signed a contract to supply two transportable air traffic control radar systems for the Romanian Air Force. The radars are part of a package that includes Instrument Landing Systems and other navigational aids. The delivery of the two radars in late 2005 will support Romania’s commitment to upgrade their military bases to NATO standards. The work will be performed by the Gilfillan Radar Group of ITT.
ITT’s air traffic control radar includes precision approach and landing systems, and is available in fixed, transportable, and mobile versions for both civil and military applications worldwide. It was first introduced in 1996. It is now the number one choice for precision approach radar and landing services in the world, and is now operational in nine countries including: Algeria, Brazil, Canada, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Poland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
